Strategic Study of CAE 2001, Volume 3, Issue 12,   Pages 85-89

Abstract:

This article introduces the technology development of capacitor grade tantalum powders including high voltage tantalum powders, medium voltage tantalum powders and high specific capacitance tantalum powders. Many tantalum powder producers have invented new processes and technology to increase specific capacitance, reducing impurity content and improve the physical properties of tantalum powder so as to meet the requirement of capacitor manufacturing.

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2019, Volume 13, Issue 2,   Pages 400-414 doi: 10.1007/s11705-018-1757-0

Abstract: Thin-film composite (TFC) nanofiltration (NF) membranes were fabricated via the interfacial polymerization of piperazine (PIP) and 1,3,5-benzenetricarbonyl trichloride on polysulfone (PSf) support membranes blended with K -responsive poly( -isopropylacryamide-co-acryloylamidobenzo-15-crown-5) (P(NIPAM-co-AAB C )). Membranes were characterized by attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, atomic force microscope, scanning electron microscope, contact angle, and filtration tests. The results showed that: (1) Under K -free conditions, the blended P(NIPAM-co-AAB C )/PSf supports had porous and hydrophilic surfaces, thereby producing NF membranes with smooth surfaces and low MgSO rejections; (2) With K in the PIP solution, the surface roughness and water permeability of the resultant NF membrane were increased due to the K -induced transition of low-content P(NIPAM-co-AAB C ) from hydrophilic to hydrophobic; (3) After a curing treatment at 95 °C, the improved NF membrane achieved an even higher pure water permeability of 10.97 L·m ·h ·bar under 200 psi. Overall, this study provides a novel method to improve the performance of NF membranes and helps understand the influence of supports on TFC membranes.

Effect of sodium ions in synthesis of titanium silicalite-1 on its catalytic performance for cyclohexanone

Pengxu YAO,Yaquan WANG,Teng ZHANG,Shuhai WANG,Xiaoxue WU

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2014, Volume 8, Issue 2,   Pages 149-155 doi: 10.1007/s11705-014-1409-y

Abstract: Titanium silicalite-1 (TS-1) has been hydrothermally synthesized with tetrapropylammonium hydroxide (TPAOH) as the template in the presence of various amounts of Na , characterized by inductively coupled plasma, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and ultro-violet-visible spectroscopy and studied in cyclohexanone ammoximation. The characterization results show that with the increase of Na concentration in the synthesis, both the crystal sizes of TS-1and extra framework Ti increase but framework Ti decreases. The addition of Na below 3 mol-% of TPAOH in the synthesis does not influence the catalytic properties with above 98% conversion of cyclohexanone and 99.5% selectivity to cyclohexanone oxime. However, at the concentrations of Na ≥3 mol-% of TPAOH in the synthesis, the catalysts are deactivated faster with the increase of Na addition, which can be attributed to more high molecular weight byproducts deposited in the large TS-1 particles and the loss of the frame-work titanium. The results of this work are of great importance for the industry.
